A utopian idea of a library set in the middle of the Mikulov landscape. A small stop for those who choose to walk – to find a book, rest and friendship. A place where wandering and reading intertwine.

A short distance from Mikulov, while walking through the landscape, came the idea of a resting place. A place which is worth the effort of the journey. A place where one could find peace, sleep, reading and companionship. In a city, anyone can go to a library for a book at any time, but the thought of walking through the rolling Mikulov hills to reach a book, filled me with calm and seemed like a wonderful idea.
In the age of tablets, e-readers and every possible convenience, it was of course a bit utopian. But the idea felt so alive that I had to pursue it. In the end, this little stop became more than a library. It included a simple bivouac for overnight stays and became a meeting point in the landscape.
