Pilates Art is a specialized studio in Klánovice dedicated to the Pilates method. It’s a place equipped with elegantly designed and highly functional Pilates machines. From the very beginning, it was important to the owners that the studio become more than just a gym filled with people. We sought an approach that would enhance the quality of the exercise itself while also creating a cultural environment. A place where not only the body but also the soul feels comfortable. A place where clients and instructors alike would genuinely want to spend their time. The studio is divided into several key zones that together form a compact, functional whole. At its heart lies a community island. This shared relaxation zone is where visitors can enjoy coffee or tea, exchange impressions after a session, or simply let the feeling of movement linger. The interior draws inspiration from Japanese simplicity, working primarily with natural materials and emphasizing lightness, airiness, sophistication and thoughtful detail.

The dominant material is waxed pine plywood, complemented by durable acoustic curtains that allow for flexible and elegant spatial division. Black accents, ceramic mosaic tiles and colored flooring add contrast to the otherwise subdued atmosphere, with color concentrated intentionally in the heart of the studio – the community zone. To remain within budget, we designed simple light fixtures made of Japanese washi paper. Thanks to its earthy texture, unique quality, versatility and remarkable durability, washi has long been recognized as an ideal material for lighting – producing a soft, warm and diffused glow that perfectly matches the calm and mindful spirit of the studio.
